Does yoga help with back pain?

It can help, and there is research pointing that way. Clinical studies with adapted yoga (such as Viniyoga) showed reduced chronic low back pain and improved function for some people. Yoga works on mobility, strengthening and posture awareness, factors linked to the back pain of people who sit all day. Even so, it is a complement to health care, not a substitute, and the practice must be done with care.
