How much does a yoga platform charge teachers?

Yoga platforms charge teachers in two main ways: a percentage on each sale (usually 10% to 30%) or a fixed monthly fee regardless of whether you earn. The fairest model for beginners is per-sale percentage, because you pay nothing in months with no income. Always check whether a payment-processing fee is added on top.

The two charging models

Per-sale percentage: the platform takes a cut only when you sell. Zero risk in slow months. Ideal to start.

Fixed monthly fee: you pay every month, sale or not. It only pays off when your volume is high enough that the percentage would cost more than the flat fee.

Watch out for hidden fees

Withdrawal or payout fees: some charge to transfer your money.

Card processing fees: instant transfers are usually cheaper; cards carry an acquirer fee.

Always ask "how much net do I keep on a $100 sale?" It’s the only number that matters.

Frequently asked questions

What’s a fair percentage for a yoga platform to charge?

10% to 20% per sale is considered fair when the platform delivers live video, payments, scheduling and student acquisition. Above 30% starts to hurt.

Is a monthly fee or a percentage better?

For beginners or variable income, a percentage is better — you only pay when you earn. A monthly fee only pays off at high volume.

Is the card fee charged on top of the percentage?

Often yes. Check whether the platform’s percentage already includes processing or whether it’s added. Run the math on the net amount.

Can I pass the fee on to the student?

Technically you can build it into the price, but the market prices on the final number. It’s better to set your price already accounting for the fee.
